Cool four-season weather makes it a year-round hiking town - locals just shift trailhead choice with the season.

Thumb Butte (the postcard hike)

Thumb Butte Trail #33 is the iconic 1.7-mile loop with a 600-foot climb to the namesake basalt summit. Views over the city and the Bradshaw Mountains. Dog-friendly on a leash. Day-use parking $5 at the trailhead off Thumb Butte Road. The most-walked hike in Prescott.
