Downtown Prescott
The Courthouse Plaza
The Yavapai County Courthouse, completed in 1916, sits in the middle of a square block of lawn and elm trees. Free summer concerts, the December Christmas Lighting, the July 4 parade, and the Frontier Days kickoff all happen here. Public restrooms operate on the south side.
Whiskey Row (Montezuma Street)
One block facing the plaza's west side. The Palace Restaurant and Saloon claims Arizona's longest continuous bar. The Birdcage Saloon, Matt's Saloon, and several others rotate live music. Bars typically close at 1 a.m. or 2 a.m.
Cortez Street antiques and shops
Cortez Street north of Gurley holds the densest run of antique malls and independent shops. Cortez Antique Mall, Merchandise Mart, and several smaller booths cover Western collectibles, mid-century, and books.
Where to eat downtown
El Gato Azul, Park Plaza, Bill's Pizza, The Raven Cafe, and several Whiskey Row patios cover most lunch and dinner needs. Coffee at Wild Iris, Cuppers, or Granite Mountain Roasters.
